I had the chance to meet Issa Rae earlier this year and I asked her about brining “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl”. She mentioned that under the right conditions she would love to see her series on the big screen. Seems like HBO has made that condition possible. The hillarious webseries is coming to HBO. Issa Rae has met with serveral media outlets and have found a perfect home that will include television producer Larry Wilmore.
Larry Wilmore makes a regular appearnace on the Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show” as the “Senior Black Correspondent” and the “Senior Executive Commander-in-Chief Who Happens To Be Black Correspondent” after the election of President Obama. He has wrote and produced shows like “In Living Color,” “Sister Sister,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “The Jaimie Foxx Show” and “The Bernie Mac Show” just to name a few. I am ecstatic about my girl Jae and her cast of misfits coming to a television near us. In addition to this HBO accomplishment Issa Rae has partnered with Shonda Rhimes to bring “I Hate L.A. Dudes” to ABC
I asked Issa Rae during our interview what advice she had for people trying to make their dreams come true. She said,
Team up with people who are good at what they do and have faith.
Faith definitely can open up doors and make dreams come true!
